Ambien Benzodiazepine Cross Tolerance Ambien/Lunesta Vs. Xanax?

Ambien/Lunesta vs. Xanax? - ambien benzodiazepine cross tolerance

Lunesta / Ambien and Xanax potentates of GABA receptors (ie, that each increase the likelihood of capturing the neuro-receptors "of this inhibitory neurotransmitter ... ... no?) But it is a benzodiazepine, and the other not. .

All GABA potentates. Xanax makes me relaxed, but not necessarily sleepy ambien / lunesta, when I did not hallucinate and Knock Me Out. Both work the same basic effects on inhibitory neurotransmitter why radically different results?

You're right, the drugs act on the GABA-A chloride channel, which is inhibitory in nature. Benzodiazepines, but act to increase the frequency of channel opening. Ambien / lunesta / ACT Sonata in a completely different part of the GABA channel, and very likely increase the affinity of the GABA channel. Another class of drugs are similar baribiturates acting on the duration of channel opening increases. Even if all these drugs act on the same receptor, have very different mechanisms of action. Sorry for the caps, I just wanted to highlight the differences.
